Garbage and Rubbish Collection
Garbage and rubbish pick-up is on Monday of each week. When a holiday occurs on a Monday, then pick-up will occur on the following day. Holidays include: New Years' Day, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The term "rubbish" does not include waste materials accumulated in the construction, remodeling or repair of buildings. Tree-trimmings should be tied in bundles NOT to exceed 36" in length. Rubbish containers must be carried to the curb by 6:00 am, the morning of the pick-up, and "shall be covered".
The Village of Riverlea provides garbage and rubbish collections from your tax monies and no additional payment need to be made.

Leaf Pickup
In the Autumn, leaf pick-up is included with the regular garbage and rubbish pickup. Your leaves are to be bagged.
Snow Removal
Snow removal services are provided through a contract with Sharon Township. Roads are plowed to curb or road edge. Salt is placed in the center of the roads. During regular work hours, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, the Road Department monitors road conditions with the help of the WOrthington Police Department. When shoveling snow, do not throw snow into the streets. If you must partk your car on the street, please move it to a clear location after 2" of snowfall.
Storm Water Management
To comply with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Riverlea is required to have a Storm Water Management Plan. Our plan was recently approved by Council, and actions defined by the plan are underway. Riverlea's Storm Water Management Plan is available
to read online. Part of the action plan is to keep residents informed of how you can help keep our waters clean.
Riverlea's storm water drains discharge storm water directly into the Olentangy River. We must be careful not to pollute the storm water with any type of household or construction waste material.
Things you can do:
- Dispose of all waste appropriately.
-
Do not pour any waste into the storm drains. This includes oils, grease, animal waste, litter, pesticides, etc.
-
Recycle approved material in the weekly trash pickup.
-
Keep leaves and grass clippings out of the street and curbs.
-
Dispose of oil at the Worthington Service Department.
-
Remind your children of these actions.
-
Report any violations to the Office of the Mayor at 614-885-3567.
